April 2014 Recognitions by the Board of Education

Olathe Lions Club Representatives from the Olathe Evening Lions Club were recognized for the group's longtime support of the district. They were joined by Community Liaison Heather Schoonover, Central Elementary School Principal Stephanie Dancso, Washington Elementary School Principal Christi Gottschalk, and Advanced Technical Center Administrator Kathy Musgrave.
Liberty Wheatley Liberty Wheatley, a student at Pioneer Trail Middle School, is a national finalist for the Student Read 180 All-Star Award. She was joined by her principal, Michael Wolgast, and Mary Jo Fox, district language arts and Title 1 coordinator.
Liz Bogdan Liz Bogdan, a teacher at Pioneer Trail, is the district Read 180 Teacher of the Year. She was joined by her principal, Michael Wolgast, and Mary Jo Fox, district language arts and Title 1 coordinator.
Gayla Posch is honored Gayla Posch, a fourth-grade teacher at Tomahawk Elementary School, is the district's nominee for the Kansas Elementary Teacher of the Year award. Her principal, Linda Armstrong, also joined the presentation.
Olathe North girls bowling team The Olathe North High School girls bowling team won the 6A state championship. Olathe North Principal David Morford and coach Jim Anderson are also pictured.
Olathe Northwest Raven Dance Team

The Olathe Northwest High School Raven Dance Team was named National Dance Champions. Head coach Shannon Judge, assistant coach Lauren Hipp, and assistant principal Greg Smith joined the presentation.
