Burns and McDonnell recognition

Superintendent Marlin Berry and Board President LeEtta Felter (left) thanked Emily Rhoden (center) of Burns & McDonnell for the firm's partnership with the district. Rhoden is K-12 educational outreach coordinator for the engineering firm that has shown its support of science, technology, engineering and math in the Olathe Public Schools. Also participating in the recognition were Community Liaison Heather Schoonover and district Science Coordinator Julie Miller (far right).

Kerry Lane is recognized

Santa Fe Trail Middle School Principal Kerry Lane was recognized for receiving the 2015 Honor Administrator Award from the Kansas Music Educators Association. She was joined by Assistant Superintendent Erin Dugan (right). 

Robyn Stuewe is honored Robyn Stuewe, the district's manager of employee wellness, was named one of the top 10 Health Promotion Professionals in the nation. The honor from the Wellness Council of America recognizes individuals for their professional development, demonstrated success, leadership, innovation, and compelling vision. Director of Health Services Cindy Galemore (right) assisted with the award presentation.
Pennies for Shoes recognition

Olathe Mayor Mike Copeland (second from left) thanked the district for its campaign to help the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund. Students across the district collected nearly $22,000 in coins in November and early December for the Pennies for Shoes campaign. Board members Rick Schier and Harlan Parker also participated in the recognition by the mayor.
