Geoscience Academy Students Offer Workshops for Residents
March 21, 2017 ~ Students in the Geoscience Academy at Olathe North High School will once again offer their rain barrel and rain garden workshops at the school. The classes have been a spring tradition for the past several years.
The rain barrel workshop will include a presentation on stormwater management techniques using rain barrels, as well as construction of a free rain barrel kit. There are two dates available: April 1 and April 15. Homeowners who reside in Johnson County may sign up for one session on the date that works best for them. There are four times available on each date.

The rain garden workshop takes place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4. Geoscience Academy students will discuss stormwater management and the benefit of rain gardens before moving to instruction and construction of an actual rain garden. A drawing will be held for 25 free rain garden kits. All homeowners in attendance will receive a free rain garden booklet. This workshop is also limited to homeowners who reside in Johnson County.
